virginia tech is on the road in boston today taking onhe bc eagles. it is a 12:30 kickoff. sunny and cool. 44 degrees there and the terpins at home taking on the seminoles of florida state. nice and sunny. a noon kickoff i college park. go terps! >>> a whole new way to get around today in northern virginia. we have a live look of the 495 express lanes now open. this is the entrance in springfield. there had been two accidents already but other than that we haven't seen too much traffic. they'll get the first true test come monday. >> with today's opening v dot is hoping you can go from sitting in backups to breezing right by them. before you hop on the lanes we want to make sure you know exactly how they work. two lanes stretch for 14 miles in both the inner loops and outer loops in northern virginia between dulles toll road and springfield. the promise is that you'll be able to go at least 45 miles per hour even at rush hour. now to keep all of this traffic moving, the toll cost is going to rise and fall based on just how much congestion there is. you're going to be able t

boston is at 63. that's another warm spot there in miami. elsewhere, it is a cold start to this november morning. throughout the morning for the next couple of hours, probably till about 9:00 or so, we'll have the rain coming through with the breezes kicking up around 20 miles an hour. we already have about .75 to an inch of rain. not much more on top of what's already falling. by noontime, cloudy, chilly, the rain over. still a northwest wind gusting to 20 miles an hour. still in the 40s. we'll stay in the 40s the rest of the day today, and maybe a little sunshine breaking out. that may be perhaps mid to late afternoon. we'll be back down to near 40 by midnight. and then it will continue to drop all the way to near 30 by dawn rm tomorrow. quite a cold start to wednesday. bright and sunny day tomorrow. highs reaching near 50. cold mornings and chilly afternoons with sunshine on thursday, friday, and saturday. increasing clouds sunday. still chilly. might get rain sunday evening into monday. stay tuned. we'll keep you posted on that. a look a

no doubt this will lead to some big head aches at boston logan. commuters either greeted with some flooding on the roadways or perhaps in places like worcester, mass, just to our north and west, looking at several inches of snowfall and that could continue the next few hours as well. so yet again, a week later, another storm that is literally packing it all here for new england. i'll send it back inside to you. >> maria, thank you. >>> want to give you an idea of some of the snow that they got up north. this is the red bull stadium where the new york red bulls play. they had to move their game 2 of the team's playoff series because of the snow they got there last night. the ground crews tried to clear that snow away. the league's president even went out and tried to help with that effort. didn't work, though. mother nature wasn't cooperating. game 2 is now set for 7:30 tonight. some of the fans didn't mind a little snow there. the teams played to a 1-1 draw in the series opener. hopefully they won't have to deal with that kind of mess tonight. >>>
